Another One Bites the Dust

Just came back from a friend’s wedding. It’s awkward seeing all my friends start to get married now. Awkward in the sense that it seems like yesterday I was stomping on their sandcastles in the sandpit and going all anti-aircraft on their paper planes with my hands. But I’m really happy for them. Congratulations to Sitwat and Yasir! May each day you both spend together be full of love and passion for one another.

So when I go to introduce myself to the bridegroom, he asks me, “What’s your name?” I answer the question and then ask him, “What’s yours?” I must have made one helluva first impression. I’m such an idiot.

It was great seeing Zakir and Naveed tonight. Seeing them only makes me realize how much I miss them and how blessed I am to have them in my life. Zakir and I walked outside the hotel where the wedding was taking place, saw a man puking his guts out because he was so wasted, sat on a flatbed trailer that was in the parking lot (I love parking lots) which gave me visions of roadtrips across the great American Plains in the near future, had a deep meaningful conversation about life, and tried to read our destinies by skimming the stars situtated in a clear, calm night.
